Life has chaos- no secret there, and with three growing teenagers stretching their wings chaos is constant. In the whirling of emotions, decisions, and schedules..of demands, discussions, and tempers..there sits a quilt.
My time at the frame is a time for solace- peace. My body settles into the familiar contours of the old rocking chair. The thimble takes its place as needle meets my grasp. A soothing and familiar rhythm begins; a dance between fabric and thread.
In this place of constant comes a time of prayer. With hands busy in the familiar flow, my mind and heart join together to commune with my Lord. Precious moments of intercession, discussion, listening occur here... in the place of constant. Here, the chaos settles, if only for a moment....

Nice post. I know what you mean. Blessings from Wisconsin.
Welcome!
Isn't it strange where we find places to meditate and pray? I like the quilting but don't have anything ready now. I find when I am ironing I can meditate. I know, most don't iron anymore but I am still old fashion.
Blessings and keep that quilting going.
