It has been a stormy and unbearably hot weekend here in the south..lots of time for afternoon sewing in in front of the fan! Such time indoors had led me to the last turn of the frame for the vintage doily quilt.
This is the first time I have used a gable frame stitch (seen on the blue in top picture); it's going much quicker than I anticipated. Each lacy doily is quilted around and left untouched giving a hint of accent without detracting attention.
Today it the final turn of the frame..one last section to stitch before adding binding and finishing it off. I am sending pictures to the quilt's owner...updates on progress are important to me.
What are some indoor activities you are doing during the hot days of summer?
