It's a well known fact- the girls in this house have incredibly long hair. My oldest girl's hair trailed past her pockets recently- now that's long!
Like her daddy, this farm girl has very thick, very strong hair-- heavy hair. With an active lifestyle and summer heat coming she felt it was time for a change. It's only hair; nothing to be too worried about..or is it?
There are children in our country who do not have the simple blessing of hair. For many years now, my girls and I have participated in a donation program designed to help these precious souls obtain a basic luxury; a head of pretty hair.
A basic clip of hair measuring at least ten inches can help make hair pieces for children suffering from hair loss most often associated with chemotherapy treatments. Our family participates regularly by donating several inches of hair every other year. Today. as part of her step into "adult life" as a young high school graduate took the plunge--being the first one of us this year to donate her hair. After all, it's only hair...right?

I have my 10 inch ponytail in the drawer here waiting to be sent off to Locks of Love. Those kids need it more than I do!
I feel that way myself...seeing their pretty faces on the web sight really touches my heart to share. Funny how such a simple thing can make such a difference.
